What does this mod do?
This mod will let you add images to your products options and show them on the product page. In addition it comes with an automatic slideshow of the related pictures and while hovering on an option the main image will change to that options picture.
Will this mod break anything?
This mod will not overwrite any of your existing files, it does however require vqmod, a virtual file modification system that is designed to work with opencart. vqMod does not come with opencart but is included in this package and available at vqmod.com . This mod has been tested with Opencart 1.5.0.5 – 1.5.1.1 and appears to have no bugs at this time. If the mod breaks anything , you just remove a file and its fixed.
Installation Instructions
1. Upload the contents of the folder packaged with this to the root of your store if you don’t have vqmod already. If you have vqmod installed it will ask you to overwrite files, so just upload the optionsimages.xml file in vqmod/xml.
2. If you hadn’t had vqmod installed prior then go to your browser and type in the path to your store followed by /vqmod/install (ie mystore.com/vqmod/install), if all went well you will see black text saying vq mod has been installed.
3. Done!!
To disable the mod if something breaks, rename the optionimages.xml file to something without .xml or delete temporarily.
For theme developers
It should be pretty self explanatory. If things break, just check the vqmod.log file in /vqmod/ for errors in finding certain lines, and all that you should be concerned with is the product.tpl portion. Just open the optionimages.xml file and grab the chunk of code that gets inserted to see what has been added. There are only a couple lines added. The javascript interaction does however rely on the markup. For questions. Submit a post on my mod page, and you should get an answer soon.
