Why do my product, category, manufacturer and info pages have strange prefixes before them?
This identifies them. This means old links will still show correct content, reducing 404 errors

You can edit desktops, mac and imac to different text
What does the language prefix do and why have it?
The language prefix will show the current language code (such as en) as follows
www.example.com/en/p/41/imac/
Because it will switch to say german if en is de and the site supports the language, it means visitors and search engines see the content they need without having to switch from the default to their language
