This extension modifies the default UPS module to classify addresses as "Residential" or "Commercial" based on the street-level address validation API. This allows you to give your customers accurate UPS shipping quotes based on their address during checkout.
Note: Utilizing this extension requires your UPS registration key to have production access to the Address Validation - Street Level API. You must request this access from UPS. Instructions on how to do so are included in the download, but you are responsible for obtaining this access.
- Install in seconds using the included vQmod file, or modify the necessary files yourself using the included list of edits.
- Addresses classified as "Unknown" properly fall back to the setting for "Quote Type" in the UPS module.
- A verification message appears in the UPS module settings, letting you know the modification is active.

UPS Address Validation Instructions

1. Before you will be able to utilize the Address Validation - Street Level
API you will need to get production access for your UPS registration key.
To do so, complete the following steps:

2. Backup your OpenCart installation, just to be safe.
3. To apply the necessary core files edits, you can either use vQmod, or you
can manually perform the edits. If you want to use vQmod and don't already
have it installed, you can download it for free at www.vqmod.com
Once vQmod is installed, upload the contents of the "upload" folder to the
root of your OpenCart installation. This will install the necessary vQmod
file in the appropriate location.
You can verify that the vQmod file has been applied by navigating to
Extensions > Shipping > UPS > Edit and viewing the "Quote Type" field. It
should say "Street-Level Address Validation Enabled" in red text.
4. If you want to manually apply the modification instead of using vQmod, you
can skip uploading the contents of the "upload" folder. Instead, perform the
modifications indicated in the edits.txt file.
5. Whether you use vQmod or manually perform the edits, the "Quote Type"
setting is now the default when the address classification is returned as
"Unknown."
