Re: Shopify vs Opencart

Well for a start Shopify is much better at taking $29.00 a month from you which Opencart doesn't. You also don't need any IT knowledge to manage Opencart once it's up and running.

Re: Unable to login after Migration

Upload a clean version of Opencart minus the install folder and any config.php/admin/config.php into a subfolder. FTP down your live site config.php, admin/config.php and .htaccess file. Change the path in all three to reflect the subsolder. Upload the amended files in to the clean file system in yo...

Re: moving to new server

Some hosts like the one I'm using will migrate your site in as part of their service.

Re: PayPal Standard Major Issues

Without a test order on a clean site it's hard to narrow down the problem. That would be my first place to start.

Do you get the same problems using the default theme and checkout?

Re: Looking for extension to subscribe to phplist

The brief to the coder includes that. There's a free Newsman extension in the marketplace. I'm looking at having something similar. Once the extension connects it will give you the option of which PhpList to export to. There will be the option of having a guest newsletter subscribe moduleon the site...

Re: Looking for extension to subscribe to phplist

I'm currently talking to a coder friend of mine about getting a basic OC extension written. Initially I'm looking to have just the customer's first name, last name and email address exported to PhpList. They'll be a manual sync needed befiore each time a mailout is done from PhpList but it's a start...

Re: Website not compatible with PHP7.2, MySQLi issue

This has been covered plenty of times. Either upload the library file for PHP7 or ask your host to roll back PHP on your account to 5.6.

Re: Looking for extension to subscribe to phplist

Another suggestion. Ask the guy who wrote this extension if he can upgrade it to OC2:

Re: Hello from the new kid

Interesting, informative and engaging content for the human reader and well constructed/structured copy with keywords and phrases placed so the content flows and feels warm fo r the search engine. When I started marketing 15 years ago it was about keyword saturation, sig...

Re: Looking for extension to subscribe to phplist

"For my own use I wouldn't need full integration just a simple: customer selecting YES to opencart newsletter, gets added to phplist subscribers:" That's quite a bit of work. Ideally you need every instance of the newsletter subscribe/unsubscribe process synced with Phplist so at every stage the two...

Re: Looking for extension to subscribe to phplist

I looked into this. It would be handy to get OC and Phplist integrated. A basic integration would be easy enough but idealy you need full integration as with the Mailchimp Pro extension to make it really useable. At the time I looked PhpList didn't support API which limited the level of integration....

I install CIDRAM on my OC sites which adds another useful level of security. You can download it from Github.

I wouldn't use any 1.5 apart from 1.5.6.5 myself.

Re: Download charges $5 extra? OpenCart 2.2.

Nope. Just setting it as a normal product with no shipping required, a download attached and no options is fine. :-)
