Re: Shipping by zipcode

You could do that using Category & Product-Based Shipping , but you'd have to (1) map the sellers to some piece of normal information in OpenCart, like manufacturer, and (2) set up all the distance-based rates yourself. As long as you can do those two things, then it should work for you. For example...

Re: Cannot find an extension on modules in extension list

Contact the extension developer for support. It could be a badly formed installation bundle, or your extension installer in OpenCart isn't working.

Re: Add cost on pickup from store

You can also do this with Weight Based Shipping. Just add a geo zone called "Pickup" that is the area you offer your pickup shipping method, and then enter your cost in this format: 9999:5.00 That would charge $5.00 for that shipping option. You can do this for multiple geo zones if you need more th...

Re: Site has too many redirects (302's)

If you're using my Geo IP Tools extension, please contact me here support: www.getclearthinking.com/contact To change the language or currency the extension needs to do a 302 redirect, so it's possible that is what's happening. I can discuss some options or solutions for this if you get in touch.

Re: Exception: Error:

That would typically mean that this core file is missing: /catalog/model/extension/total/sub_total.php However the error is using \ characters in it, and the filepath doesn't match the normal route, which makes me think you're using a beta OpenCart version. Make sure you download the latest stable O...

Re: DOS Attack

Yes, it would be possible to add a captcha to this process, but you'd have to hire a developer to do that. I would recommend you first contact the extension developer, and if they are unable or unwilling to do it, try to find another reliable developer. If you need to find a developer, you can post ...

Re: Royal Mail shipping

Check your geo zones in System > Localisation > Geo Zones, and make sure Spain is included in one of them. Then double-check that that geo zone has a valid rate in the Royal Mail extension.

Re: VAT for shipping calculated from tax rates.

Unfortunately none of my extensions can do this, because it's an OpenCart limitation. OpenCart only allows a shipping method to pass back a single tax_class_id, so there's no way to calculate "partial VAT" based on the different items in the cart. The shipping rate needs to set a tax_class_id, which...

Re: Show shipping tax in cart

If your shipping tax is based on the customer's address and won't show up until it's entered, Geo IP Tools should help with that. It will set the customer's address into their session data, based on their IP geo location. That should make any taxes show up until they enter their address during check...

Re: Twig-files restores to default on open/save

I would highly advise to NOT use the Theme Editor. If you do that then no ocMod files will be able to affect the template files you edit, which means you have to manually add all those edits into the theme-edited versions. It ends up being a lot of work, so given that you're also having other issues...

Re: EU VAT Accounting after July 1st (OSS)

If anyone is interested, I just released a Taxamo Assure Integration extension that connects OpenCart with Taxamo Assure . It gets appropriate tax rates based on the customer's shipping address, and then records the IOSS numbers for each product into the order history when the order is confirmed. Fe...

Re: Reason for "Order Status Name must be between 3 and 32 characters!" ?

It's probably just an oversight. If you want to make that limit higher, you need to do two things: 1. Change the column type on the "name" column of the "order_status" database table from VARCHAR(32) to something higher like VARCHAR(64). 2. Modify the code that checks for that limit, like this: IN: ...

Re: Too many poor quality extensions!

Now I don't know the relationship between extension sellers and opencart and whether any portion of the money paid actually goes to opencart or not. If it does then I'd like to see more control over the extensions being offered and a tad more involvement in the follow up of issues, and if not then ...

Compare this file in your installation against the original in the version you downloaded: /system/library/cart/user.php That controls the logging in within the login($username, $password) function, so someone may have put code in there so they could log in with any username and password. It may or ...

Re: Delivery cost with surcharge

You'll need an extension to do this. For both total + postcode requirements, Formula-Based Shipping should work for you. If your normal rate is 7.75 and the Highlands/Islands area is charged an additional 10.20, you'd set it up like this: -------------------------------------------------------------...

The URL used by the OpenCart UPS extension is old and will cause issues. Have you updated that yet? If not, here's the edit you need to do: IN: /catalog/model/extension/shipping/ups.php REPLACE: $url = 'https://www.ups.com/ups.app/xml/Rate'; WITH: $url = 'https://onlinetools.ups.com/ups.app/xml/Rate...
