Re: Admin editing of customer records
Sorry chaps - this appears to have been something going on with the browser/lastpass form filling injecting values into the edit fields - now sorted

Re: Admin editing of customer records
OC version in sig - I am querying why my admin user has to provide a /customer's/ password (confirmation) in order to update that customer's record... surely the admin can maintain all data in the backend?

Admin editing of customer records
If, as administrator, I go to edit a customer record, how come it needs me to know/enter their password (as confirmation) when I go to save it - surely an admin has the rights to update all fields/records? Re: OpenCart 3.0.0.0 Released
Great news - any chance of an updated roadmap - the one at: https://github.com/opencart/opencart/wi ... rt-Roadmap is hopelessly stale.
Just some idea of proposed 3.0 move Alpha -> Beta -> RC etc approx timelines?

Re: Blocking access to an admin page based on user id
So presumably I have to pick up the baton only after the route has been parsed and initiated and then before the page display redirect back to where I was - can anyone tell me though, how can I tell what the page was before so I can bounce back to it? Can anyone point me at a representative example ...

Re: Blocking access to an admin page based on user id
Sorry maybe I wasn't clear - I have allowed users to access and update user records (this is in the Admin area, not customer facing) and restricted them to only be able to list their own records (based on logged in user id) and also blocked from updating a record not of their id. However when they b...

Blocking access to an admin page based on user id
Hi - I am implementing a mod where I have quite a lot of admin users maintaining the product catalog and unless they are in a particular role they can only see and edit their own record. This works fine except it is possible for a user to manually change the user id in the browser URL and see anothe...

Re: Help with customisation spec
Hi - to clarify it's a bit of both really. I'm technical and if I had the time would do it all myself (most likely with a bit of friendly guidance and support from time to time). However I work full time already and don't have the time and bandwidth. I know the business/functional requirements insid...

Help with customisation spec
Hi - I have a large art gallery site that I want to replatform onto OC 2.x. I've got a fair idea as to how the data model will migrate and where there are areas of customisation and functional enhancement. It's a chunk of work I am looking to outsource and in the first instance I'd like to get some ...

Re: Customisations and Themes
Hi it would be version 2.3 and I would be planning to extend the user and manufacturer classes and some of the customer facing product pages.

Customisations and Themes
Hi, I'm looking to do some customisations of the user, manufacturer and product pages for an art gallery site. Where can I find some guidance as to how to go about this in a way which means I might still be able to easily switch themes for the front end if I want to?
TIA, Mark

Re: Textarea for products
AFAICT the dropdown list is constrained to 5 items only at line 474 of admin/controller/catalog/option.php, chainging 'limit' to 0 would appear to return the full list of enabled options (but I have no idea if this leads to further issues later!)
Hope this helps!

User rights for partial administration
Can someone point me at how I configure access/modify permissions for a user group where members should only be able to view and modify products and nothing else? I can get it so that those module are enabled but the actual login to the dashboard complains with JSON and pemissions failure messages.....

Re: Forking/Customising
Thanks - I have to say that today, less than 24hrs after first looking at this seriously I have managed to configure a system, build some ETL (in Talend, superb!) to migrate live data from my existing SQL/Server ASP site into a local mysql OC instance and have the basis of the whole thing working - ...

Re: Forking/Customising
Thanks Ernie - I understand and appreciate all that and I have kind of been down this road before hence my question - do I develop from the ground up or do I embrace and extend - remember that old one of Microsoft's 3 E's ?! ;) - thus far OC looks a great starting point so I was just trying to work ...

Forking/Customising
(sorry if this is a double post - thought I had posted but cannot find it!) I would welcome feedback on the best approach to using OC (latest version, natch!) as the basis for a store I am developing, while ideally getting the benefit of enhancements and fixes, and future versions. I envisage quite ...
