Re: Multiple Captcha's on Product Page

Just ran into this same thing on a store with the same product questions mod. The prob is with the .load() used to pull the reviews frame and then the pq frame after it. This causes 2 requests to the captcha which isn't a single serve. The first load generates one for reviews, then right after pq re...

Re: 2016 - Why are there so many Terrible themes?!

+1000000 for all of that! So many themes are utterly-unthoughtout garbage.

You know what drives me more nuts though? Lack of constructor classes in a cart that focals on mods ;)

Imagine a world where class="MT10" without messing around. Revert back to line 1 and rethink base helpers...

Re: Why not to use Opencart

Although i def feel your frustrations from a biz owner, and that basic modern requirements are lacking from default core, i tend to agree with Daniel there. OC is kind of like a framework that is whiteboxed with enough base functionality to extend upon. Its not totally abstracted, therefore not nece...

Managing Caches for All Known Mods From 1 Spot

I'm building a util to clear/regenerate caches from 1 spot, then make it cron-able for hands-free and DB scopes, then opensource it. I got it working well raw with default OC locations, some server side caches, and for a couple extensions beyond that, but I know there are many more areas and methods...

Re: Would $this->document->clean($string) be useful to you?

Yah that's a useful one too sometimes, but only if its a consistent string, not made of various scopes of char/tag/entity state. Admittedly its EN based, but the idea is clean() runs at best stage in your filter/decode stack to fix what the native PHP ones hiccup on when its the out of scope output ...

Re: Would $this->document->clean($string) be useful to you?

I updated that snippet to be less derpy if anyone was actually using it :). Has 2 more params now, 1 for strict mode and 1 for punctuation prettifier (both on by default for backwards support)

Re: https:// showing partly secured elements?

OC has very poor support for SSL. Assets like images, scripts, and css need to load correctly....and its just not set up to do that without modifying the code in areas such as startup.php, request.php, and the file manager, then editing sources in DB to be relative. If you run 1.5.x there is a mod h...

Re: Methods for decreasing the loading time of website?

One more! 1. Cloudflare just enabled HTTP/2 recently , with a SPDY fallback to boot. Its a major difference in speed. Like major major major difference. 2. Is the server capable? One of the most likely suspects of a slow website is the server itself, dont use cheap hosting with godaddy, 1&1 and fast...

Re: Injection attempts and error

I understand and dont blame ya. In relativity though, its not really that complicated with a concise explanation :) Its complicated to do it with nothing, as a pioneer, per-say. And as far as ssl, cloudflare has free (front facing) wildcard SSLs with bootloads of tweaks you may have to devote much m...

Re: Injection attempts and error

Good deal :) Yeah CF can cause a bit of problems if not set up correctly, but its not too bad, and its easier than many other services that use a different type of CDN with lesser SSL systems. Its worth it in my opinion, especially considering they just pushed http/2 to all sites on their service. T...

Re: Methods for decreasing the loading time of website?

Firstly and foremost, OC needs static pagecache. This free one works great. Don't spend money: https://github.com/budgetneon/pagecache If you need auto-clear pagecache on most object saves for that, like in a team "CI" environment, check this out: https://github.com/budgetneon/pagecache/issues/14#is...

Re: Injection attempts and error

Whoe, late reply but yes those errors are due to the action.php not being able to understand the paths/parameters/querystrings presented in 2 of those injection attempts. If you look at the code in action.php you will see various replaces of dotslashes, they should line up with the 2 instances of fo...

Re: CloudFlare not being cool

If you are using SSL admin then this is prob happening because OC lacks the proper routing for modern SSL spanned across multiple alternate HTTPS flag headers that reverse/proxies could set. If its referencing cross app (ie, admin to catalog) then this might be compounded. You need to mask/consolida...

Re: how to show custom data from oc_product

Depending on what/how you are doing this, there are 2-3 places to work in to add a new field. For this im using 1.5.6x but its similar in 2.x branch. 1) The model. If you are piggybacking on another query like getProduct() you will probably need to include the field in the return array(). Find /cata...

Re: Buttons and main menu are displaying in their label

When this happens its probably due to missing/incomplete/uncalled language model(s). button_cart for example would just display as a literal name string when called via $this->...('button_cart') if the file isnt there, the string not defined, or the model not called. So, are you using the correct de...

Re: More unwanted visitors!

Aye we don't support weak ciphers anymore and nor does Cloudflare :) In this case, its sitting behind a CF certificate, which uses ecdh with a stronger curve. Windows doesnt support XP and therefore you may see that warning in all besides the lastest firefox on that OS. Or, if you are using a newer ...
