Re: More unwanted visitors!

Hah yeah, there are plenty of them out there. We ended up throttling all the crap countries (china, russia, ukraine, india, france, brazil, etc) and outright blocking known ASN ranges too. If you want a TON of ips for APF or something, here is a dump from today. BFD is recent abusers in temp ban sta...

Re: More unwanted visitors!

Sorta. They are trying to test for a successful redirect using [untainted] dynamic broadband connections against URL structures of a site/platform/framework/plugin that I do not know. The good news is that it might not be something you need to worry about, unless of course your OC bypasses index.php...

Anyone use an APM like NewRelic? Hows your queries running?

We finally tried out NewRelic last week to see how well it compares to other monitors. Although tedious to set up in a Cloudlinux + cPanel env, it's quite cool (and free for small biz style accounts). So noticing after a week or so gathering Opencart stats in the APM (application monitor) that "oc_p...

Re: Changing Page Titles

Ah yeah sorry, was in a hurry typing that. The second part below the =============== is indeed a "shortcut", like if you wanted to apply it to all....but you are correct that the "right" way to do it would be the first part (where youre making setTitle() in the controller(s) use the page keywords in...

Re: Changing Page Titles

Sorry been super busy. Ok so the way to do it is pretty simple once you see what needs changed. First you need to access the controller for whatever...let's say categories. Thats in catalog/controller/product/category.php and look for a line that sets the page title here: $this->document->setTitle($...

Re: Changing Page Titles

You cant set page titles in 1.5.6x without modding. You can turn the totally useless meta keywords fields into page title rather easily though. Just move the keyword var in TPL's into the <title> instead brackets and change the admin LNG vars to say page title instead. Easier than mod/new fields/etc.

Re: acess to a variable in my model

Opencart is MVC so the logic is separated from the constructors is separated from the view. Realistically you can just call your SQL from the controller, but thats bad practice so heres the right way: If you want the route index.php?route=product/pdcompatible to work then you need to put a pdcompati...

Re: Extension development

SEO is different from SEM. And if you want to learn then you should read the guides on PHP, Linux, OC, MVC, OOP, etc. Here is a good starting point for OC (the 1.5.x branch) http://stackoverflow.com/a/13484904/2418655 Anways, SEO = Development of automated procedures, integrating new standards, and ...

Re: PayMate warns users that site is not secure

It sounds like a browser warning. PayMate is probably adding https:// to whatever response/callback/page/redirect. So you need an SSL cert for your store, or tell PayMate not to ask for https://.

Re: Need some help with Resources Usage

@Cleo, sorry been really busy :) Basically I mean sending a log entry to Opencart when a sitemap/feed is generated so that you can monitor the traffic there, how much resource it uses, and how long the script is held during execution. Its kinda easy to do if you are familiar with OC. I included a vQ...

Re: Mijoshop

If you used a card you can file a chargeback saying they are selling a scam product. You will win 100% guaranteed. They will not give your money back otherwise.

Would $this->document->clean($string) be useful to you?

Unconverted HTML characters can break stuff. This method will convert them for things like JSON or as a safety for stores/clients who still allow pasting as rich text formats into the editor. Example is copying from a PDF...wrong dashes, wrong quotes, too many newline datas. Here is an output saniti...

Re: Cannot Checkout with SSL - Plese Help

You are on Cloudflare, which is a proxy. So you need an SSL mod to rewrite parts of OC to understand how to use that kind of SSL and how to rewrite assets in that schema (router). We made one here for 1.5.x series: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/extension/info&extension_id=19396 t...

Re: How to block spam

The best bet is like Ernie says -- block hosting companies by their ASN, although you dont need software to net-probe http://network-tools.com/ So ASN level locks mean denying every single IP they own. Here is a tool to do that: https://www.enjen.net/asn-blocklist/ Now you need a list of ASN's of ba...

Re: Need some help with Resources Usage

Entry processes are a direct result of a script taking too long to execute. Indirectly this could be because of the database lacking speed or indexes (see this to repair some more http://bloke.org/php/opencart-is-slow-with-many-categories/#comment-3993). It sounds like you are working to fix the DB,...

Is there a reason OC spams product entries in its sitemaps?

So imagine you understand how canonicals work and you're making a sitemap. Now imagine a product. The product has 1 url, the canonical, right? Now imagine the sitemap entries for that product. There should be only 1 entry correct? We dont need to include variations correct? Correct. Currently the OC...

Re: Admin password hack + Authorize.net

Thanks for sharing some snippets related to this. I dont know if it's related, but some brown dude uploaded this. Re: Manually generate image cache

But in the meantime, you can initiate your own spider to hit all the sites pages using http://home.snafu.de/tilman/xenulink.html Aha, that would work just fine. Granted this will only generate the category and product page images, but those are by far the most important ones in terms of page speed....
