Re: Manually generate image cache

Thats a cool idea, there is prob a way to make a cron script or something to reiterate through all the OC entities. But in the meantime, you can initiate your own spider to hit all the sites pages using http://home.snafu.de/tilman/xenulink.html This would effectively generate *all* caches. I would r...

Re: Changing ONE Menu Item Red

No prob :) If you need to use this in the future with other links (a href), you can just change the part in the quotes. So lets say you had a link for something like login/logout instead of categories: a[href$="/account/login"] { /* my styles here */ } The part with $= means it's a broad search, so ...

Re: How do I set up dynamic remarking on open cart?

Those ads are created from feeds in google merchant center: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/188494 So all you do is link to your merchant account feed then tell Adwords what products to use. The prob with OC is that its Gbase feed hasn't been updated since about the beginning of time. So...

Re: Opencart does not include .css files (stylesheets) after

Yes you have to change various places in code to run SSL mode everywhere. Its more than just stylesheets

You can use this mod to fix all assets, media, etc to run in SSL mode. Also includes proxy support: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... n_id=19396

Re: Changing ONE Menu Item Red

all you need to do is change "path=65" into whatever your sale link is. So in this case, its another category #63

Code: Select all

.journal-menu .drop-down a[href$="path=63"] {
color: #CB0505;
font-weight: bold;
}

Re: Server Requirements for massive store

You don't need more grunt, that VPS should be fine to run OC with that many products, assuming you aren't getting multiple thousands of requests a minute. You should do some optimizations though since OC is quite DB heavy. You should also consider CloudLinux to limit/throttle the store account as to...

Re: Seller Account Issue

They automagically send the balance to your Paypal at the end of each month. Also, if you see a refund out of nowhere, and there was no support request, it prob means the purchaser didn't provide proof of identity. If you get a real refund though later (after payments are sent to you) it will come v...

Re: Inserting data into opencart editor on onclick over data

If it is CKeditor, you should put the function into admin/view/javascript/ckeditor/config.js before the CKEDITOR.editorConfig directives. This would run your stuff as a bootstrap or afterstrap methodology and properly mitigate changes. You could put some change() stuff in there to make it real time ...

Re: Iv'e (Accidentally) Stolen A Theme!!!

Use Winmerge or diff (on Linux) to check all the files for changes. If the change is something you did, make a note, copy it into the new theme. If the change seems like something you didn't do, you know it's a spot of concern. report these results to the theme dev and see what he/she thinks. You ma...

Re: Opencart Product link back Code for other website pages

Ah that is a jQuery issue, usually caused by trying to use scripts before jQuery is called/loaded. So in order to use the $.ajax for this, you gotta put the script somewhere after the line of code (in the <head>) that is loading jQuery.

Re: Mail Help (Mail not working! Tried Everything)

Whaaaa....a simple account? You should absolutely remove your password and change it. Posting a password in a forum, no matter how "simple", is a dangerous thing to do. "550-keeper7.mxtoolbox.com (PWS3.mxtoolbox.com) [64.20.227.134]:53323 is not 550 permitted to relay through this server without aut...

Re: Do you know how to build this?

You need a combination of server side worker scripts, remote zone management, an SSL solution for domain based certs, and some modifications to OC that could facilitate your own [home grown] SaaS deploy flow. You should have at least 3 server nodes for redundancy, a separate server for business oper...

Re: Ideal Width For Responsive Site?

@astott2014 it doesn't matter what the inch size of the screen is, it matters what the resolution is. You can have an old 20" monitor that only goes to 1024px width, or you can have a new 20" monitor that goes beyond 1920px width. So there is nothing wrong with going full width, all the way to 2k px...

Re: specific question regarding extensibility

Yes it is very easy to create API/JSON routes with Opencart due to its MVC. In OC2 there is even an API with auth built in that you can piggyback upon to make new utils. In a controller, lets say....products..., you can just add a new public function called something like "remote". Here is a 1 way G...

Re: Mega Menu

To add a mega menu it will take a decent amount of work. Depending on your cost of living, it is probably cheaper just to buy a mod. You get more features this way too, don't have to worry about maintenance, and at the least have a great starting point. So we tried them all, and this mega menu seems...

Re: Ideal Width For Responsive Site?

960 grids are a thing of the past. 1280px is the minimum you should support now since many many tablets use this as their width. It is your choice whether you want to allow wider screens, but i don't recommend it unless you put time into correct scaling/multipliers so it doesn't look like you are on...

Re: help how do i stop google picking these up on speed test

All they are saying is to move the assets which affect colors/layout/content into the footer or load them async. For CSS you want the main structure and skin to load instant...they actually recommend putting it in the <head> which is insane/backwards to me. Running pagespeed on most of Googles sites...
