Re: How to tell which PayPal payment extension is best? OC 3.0.3.6

... PayPal Payments Standard is the oldest and most basic module. Which makes it the simplest to use as you just need your PayPal email address. I would us the version in the GitHub 3.0.x.x_Maintenance branch as this has recently had bug and security fixes. https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ref...

Re: PayPal paying in Default Currency (USD) not the Shopping Cart Currency (eg. CAD, AUD, EUR...) OC 3.0.3.6

You could try to change: currency_code":"USD" to: currency_code":"CAD" In the PayPal Commerce Platform controllers. Ah, but won't that make all PayPal transactions then proceed in CAD? Most of my clients use USD, but I want to allow folks in Europe, the UK, and Australia (who are my biggest custome...

Re: How to tell which PayPal payment extension is best? OC 3.0.3.6

The one referred to in the blog is the PayPal Commerce Platform this is the most recently added module and did replace all the others in 3.0.3.3. There are also limitations such as what countries it can be used in.Which seems to be the reason that the other were added back in 3.0.3.5. They are curr...

How to tell which PayPal payment extension is best? OC 3.0.3.6

OK, I should have looked into this when I first started out. (rant on) The page of extensions/payments includes 8 PayPal modules. None of which have an explanation on why one should choose any one over the others. The OC documents are not much help as the version they recommend is not OFFERED in the...

PayPal paying in Default Currency (USD) not the Shopping Cart Currency (eg. CAD, AUD, EUR...) OC 3.0.3.6

Just noticed this - I'm using the OC "PayPal Commerce Platform" and it is not sending the shopping cart currency code to PayPal. I'm reading the log - sample here and it is showing the currency code as USD (the default for my store). The shopping cart currency is staying in CAD - it is just being pa...

Re: Prevent PHP error display on front end (Customer) OC 3.0.3.6

Have a look here for an idea of how to change this. Although in the error handler you really only want to do that with fatal errors. https://github.com/opencart/opencart/blob/5d743659043bfeb851790845c16e8611d6345145/upload/system/framework.php#L60-L65 https://github.com/opencart/opencart/blob/e8930...

Re: Prevent PHP error display on front end (Customer) OC 3.0.3.6

To stop all errors being displayed you need to do all of the following. ... Yes, I have a pretty good idea how to disable displaying all errors, what I wanted to do was to turn display errors off just for the front end (customer) folks. If that is not possible then fine, but then you are stuck with...

Prevent PHP error display on front end (Customer) OC 3.0.3.6

I don't see any way to differentiate between displaying errors just to admin and errors displayed to customers. I don't like all the site details that are shown when I get a PHP fatal error as someone could use that info to attempt to hack the site. I'm assuming at this point that I need to either p...

Have you tried to use attributes?
No, but I'm trying for this to be dynamic - where when I add a part that is on the table it automatically is updated with the relevant data when viewed by the potential customer. Can attributes do that?

An old school HoneyPot method is still pretty effective. Lots of examples you can use.
Thanks, I found a Honeypot extension that looks like it will do the job. If it works I'll post it here with a [Solved].

Re: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 40 bytes) in /home/xxxxxxx/www/syst

This is way too much memory requirement for an OpenCart web server. What exactly do mean by "saving a website"? If it is just a DB backup, and your DB happens to be very large, it's better to use PHPMyAdmin for this. Not saying it is not too much memory as I don't know the answer, but I can say tha...
