Re: Template Selector

I thought I'd make a follow-up on what I achieved (or didn't achieve). Bruce's contribution was of enormous help in getting a javascript method for changing the templates working. But I was finding a few problems in the way it interacted with (or should I say "interfered with") the "active state" li...

Re: adding a new admin report

As well as those mentioned by Bruce, you'll also need this one:
admin/language/english/extension/module/menu.php

Change the "english" to suit your own language.

Re: OpenCart Tutorials?

Style sheets (CSS) can be found in "catalog/template/default/css", with "default.css" being the main stylesheet. Other .css files are particular to the relevant content pages.

Re: First contrib attempt. Trying to understand the structure

The administrative functionality that you want needs to be added to "admin/controller/product.php". Then in "catalog/controller/product.php" you can do some kind of check to see if this is required for a particular product. If it is required, the div would be displayed otherwise it wouldn't. However...

Re: United States Only

Good point. But unless the fake address belongs to someone that they know, how would they get anything shipped to them?

Re: First contrib attempt. Trying to understand the structure

The "modules" and "extensions" that you are talking about are in the column and appear on every page (ie. Cart, Categories, Information & Review). The files in the "admin/controller" directory that have a name like "module_catalog_filename.php" are the admin controllers for these modules. Once insta...

Re: missing feature: view cart (on sidebar)

The language file that should have been updated is "catalog/language/english/extension/module/cart.php". In this file you should add a line that reads:

Code: Select all

$_['text_view_cart'] = 'View Cart';
Then things should work they way they are supposed to.

Re: Template Selector

Further to Bruce's changes, you should also change the path to the "stars" images in "catalog/template/default/content/review.tpl" and "catalog/template/default/content/review_info.tpl" from: <img src="catalog/template/default/image/stars_<?php echo $rating . '.png'; ?>" alt="<?php echo $text_out_of...

Thanks Bruce,

I can see why you have "hero" status. This should to the job quite well. I'll give it a try later on today.

Template Selector

First of all, I would like to congratulate troyveluz for the template switcher he has at his site ( http://www.veluzarwebdesign.com/octplt/ ). His use of a javascript function is a far better way to preview template designs than my own method, and I take my hat off to him. My own method of template ...

Re: Canot view detail articles

Are you having the same problem with categories or information? Or is it specific to your products? Is "/upload/" in the URL of your store?

I'm happy to offer any assistance I can, but more information would be good.

Re: Canot view detail articles

Hi,

Login to your administration, and from the menu select Admin->Configuration->Setting and then set "Use URL Alias" to No.

This should fix your problem.

Re: URGENT! Cannot access admin

The issue of whether or not he is using HTTPS on his OpenCart installation is independent of the server setting in the Apache server configuration file.

If the security certificate and key do not match the server will have problems - it has nothing to do with OpenCart or it's configuration.

Re: 3 Column Template Opinion Needed

Three columns is good, but might I suggest narrowing the columns a little bit? The whole thing seems to be a bit tooooo wide unless you're looking at a 1280 pixel (or more) wide screen. If you try to stick within a width of 1024 pixels it would look a lot better (I think so anyway - have a look at m...

Re: OpenCart style CMS?

I'm pretty much doing this sort of thing with my own website ( http://www.fido-x.net/ ). Because of OpenCart's modular nature, it is relatively easy to add extra features by way of modular expansion - you'll have to add extra tables to the database to achieve the desired results. I've added about 10...

Re: United States Only

Since placing an order requires registration, a logical place to put this kind of thing would be in the account creation stage. This can be done by adding the following to your "catalog/controller/account_create.php" file:- if ($request->get('country_id', 'post') != 223) { $this->error['country_id']...

Re: First contrib attempt. Trying to understand the structure

Hi Qphoria, The files in the "catalog/controller" directory are the controllers for the main pages. The controllers for the "extensions" are in the "catalog/extension/module" directory. While many of these files have the same name, they are for different purposes. Those in the "catalog/controller" d...

Re: Adding Sound to product description

Hi Muze, I've found when adding "extras" to a .tpl file (like a static image), that it is necessary to state the full path, ie. "catalog/template/default/image/imagename.jpg". I would suspect that if you specified the full path to the sound file you might have a bit more success. Hope this helps. Re...

Re: My teeny contribution: text link on subcats when load from parent link

Hi April, Just a word about what you've done (not a criticism - but some help). In the code that you altered in the category.tpl file, you have left part of the image tag in place. To achieve what you want, the line should read as follows:- <div class="categories"><a href="<?php echo $category['href...
