Minor CSS fix for product-info

In Opencart 1.5.5.1, in "stylesheet.css" the line which reads: .product-info .image { should most likely be changed to: .product-info #image { in order to reference the id "image" and not the class. at the very least, the padding and border styles should be applied to the id and not the div. for me ...

Opencart Forum module?

sorry if this has been covered but I failed to find a thread. I really like the phpbb forum we've got here. Is there a module or instructions on how to easily incorporate it into an existing opencart install?

Re: Order Option Values in Admin Panel by Sort Order

The above post orders options while editing a product. Here's another bit to order them while editing the options themselves. <file name="admin/model/catalog/option.php"> <operation> <search position="replace">$option_value_query = $this->db->query("SELECT * FROM " . DB_PREFIX . "option_val...

Options Modify Product Dimensions

Just completed " Options Modify Product Dimensions ": This is a vQmod™ which allows you to use a product's options modify to modify it's dimensions, just as you would with price, points or weight. You can modify the dimensions based on addition (+), subtraction (-), multiplication (*), or equal to (...

Re: Ethics, Terms of Sale & Licensing

Should I repay him? If you're planning on continuing to use his code, I would say yes. Ok, I will. Thanks again for your feedback. Should I be allowed to sell my branch of the module? Definitely not, and I would not recommend trying. Most developers code is copyrighted, and you'll likely get banned...

Re: Internal Server Error

I had the same problem, the solution is to install curl with php. your package manager may differ but on ubuntu:

Code: Select all

apt-get install php5-curl
should do it.

Ethics, Terms of Sale & Licensing

I want some honest feedback from the consumer and developer community here. A few months ago I purchased a module from a developer that was buggy to the point of being nearly unusable, causing my browser to stall for up to 20 seconds at a time and due to improper use of functions failed to work prop...

Order Option Values in Admin Panel by Sort Order

Ever notice that when you are editing option values in the admin panel they don't seem to appear in any particular order? Personally, I'd like the admin panel to respect the sort order I've set for option values. This just replaces the admin database query with the slightly more complex catalog data...

Re: Redefine $home variable globally

Upon revisiting this I realized that my answer does not in fact truly address redefined the home link globally. Over the last month or so I've developed a fix for this though which involves a slight mod to the url library file. This effectively changes everything, everywhere, even breadcrumbs and su...

Re: url validation

A website which contains a seemingly infinite numbers of valid URLs will fail miserably when it comes to search engine ranking. Presumably the goal of having an ecommerce site is to sell merchandise. Bearing this in mind I would think that SEO would matter to nearly anyone interested in this framewo...

url validation

I have a question: Is there any good reason why the seo_url engine should accept nearly ANY combination of valid keywords? currently you can enter: mystore.com/category1/product/category2/infomation3/product4 and somehow that will be ok. to make matters worse, you can even add words in the string th...

Re: SEO URL problem with information/information/info pages

I've created a solution (and a complete vQmod for version 1.5.5.1) that allows you to leave your SEO urls intact. See my post in another thread here:

Re: Help with SEO for information/information/info

Hey, I've solved this. First off, to kv-3, the reason to do this is for SEO to eliminate duplicate content. The technique I used is this (OpenCart 1.5.5.1): 1) Enable SEO links for routes equal to "information/information/info". In the file "catalog/controller/common/seo_url.php", change line 70 fro...

This code will check to see if there are no sub-categories and, if so, display products instead in the top level drop down menus. If sub-categories exist then it will use default behavior and display them in the drop down menus. <modification>
<version>1.0</versi...
