Re: how add username field for customers?

If you look at the DB table for reviews you will see author. All OC is doing is pre-filling the customer name when they are signed in. Really, if review is your only concern, then you should be able to easily allow a customer to specify the review name without touching the controller or adding addit...

Re: Hepl HTTPS to HTTPSS error

Looks like a theme issue, or buggy code doing it. The main categories appear fine, I would contact your theme developer. Might want to also check for an .htaccess and see if anything in there is incorrect or has httpss://

Re: Need to delete all customers out of my sql database

Then use this here: https://gist.github.com/mgirouard/605619#gistcomment-2141834 Well, a word of caution. If you only want to truncate customers and orders then make sure you ONLY run the appropriate queries for those related tables. If you run that entire gist snippet you're going to lose your pro...

Re: get specific information page(s)

Thank you very much. Your solution did the trick! Really there are better ways to do this, but you can backup and try this. I had the feeling already that my method is not the most efficient, but i was happy i got something after struggling with the code. Any suggestions how to make it better? You ...

Re: get specific information page(s)

Really there are better ways to do this, but you can backup and try this. You can undo your controller changes and then try replacing the entire foreach loop (eg ($this->model_catalog_information->getInformations() as $result) {..... } with the below. Your twig changes should be fine. Find in catalo...

Re: Opencart 3.0.2.0 default theme doesn't show changes

Which leads on to the question - WHY have we not got more documentation on this??? I must admit I'm struggling with twig. I much preferred the html/css/templates etc way of doing things- all straightforward, easily located... when I DO have TIME, I'll have to brush up on twig. Anyone have any easy ...

Re: order id zero

What OC version? What mods? Curious how the order ids can be zero when order_id in the current version is set to auto-increment. Further you would get something like Duplicate entry '0' for key 'PRIMARY'. Go to phpmyadmin and see if they are showing 0 there. Maybe the DB isn't setup correct with the...

Re: Mouse hover product

Don't edit bootstrap.min.css, thats the core bootstrap styles. You need to edit your theme stylesheet.css or make a new stylesheet and apply custom changes to that. (e.g custom.css). Sorry, I don't understand exactly what you are trying to achieve.

Someone else may chime in here.

Re: Mouse hover product

OpenCart \ catalog \ view \ theme \ op-sharp \ stylesheet ^ I assume would be there. Backup and try. Clear caches after change. Further you can view source to see what stylesheet your theme is using and the path minus the url. FWIW - That will make every div hover with a shadow, not sure what look ...

Re: Homepage Grid View Product Description Length

Simple job, hire a reliable pro and save your time or study up on MVC if you want to learn to code. As I said there are many different places that contain this code, you are looking in the product template, yet have modified the category controller. Sorry, but I don't have time to offer a full tutor...

Re: Homepage Grid View Product Description Length

^ List Description Limit in your theme settings is what controls it. If thats not working and you mess with code at your own risk then try the below. You can backup your file and try the following at your own risk. find 'description' => utf8_substr(trim(strip_tags(html_entity_decode($result['descrip...

Re: Homepage Grid View Product Description Length

As @IP_CAM said the length should be configurable in your theme settings. If it's not you will need to take it up with the theme developer or if you are not comfortable editing code post it up in the paid support section. It's a simple fix.

Re: Random emails seem to be bouncing back

You need your web host or ISP to resolve the issue. Typically they only Block IP's do to spam originating from the network, a request has to be put in for removal.

This isn't related to opencart.

Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list (S3140). You can also refer your provider to http://mail.live.com/mail/troubleshooting.aspx#errors. Re: New customer finds existing address in the checkout

Its up to you - I honestly wouldn't try to salvage it, especially when it contains customer information, further if you have orders imported as well its probably a bigger problem Really, to do this properly, all associated tables should be truncated so the auto-increment is reset and then run the im...

Re: New customer finds existing address in the checkout

Go to the table oc_address I bet you will see a bunch of existing addresses there and thats where you problem is. If you did an import and the addresses are out of sync with customer ID's then you will get mixed up results.

Re: New customer finds existing address in the checkout

Well, to clarify for you this isn't a "fresh install" if you have modified the Database. Sounds like something got messed up on the import and the customer ID's are off from the address id. If you have some basic mySQL skills you can easily browse customers and customer addresses to verify the corre...
