I am wanting to add sound clips to the product page. I have them in .swf format.

The software program I used to convert them from mp3 to swf told me to past this code where ever I wanted it to be displayed.

Code: Select all

<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="316" height="88">
  <param name="movie" value="vault1.swf" />
  <param name="quality" value="high" />
  <param name="wmode" value="transparent">
     <embed src="vault1.swf"
      quality="high"
      type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
      WMODE="transparent"
      width="316"
      height="88"
      pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
</object>
vault1 is the name of the clip I am wanting to embed in the page.

When I past that code into the product description box it show the code instead of the sound clip.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Muze,

I've found when adding "extras" to a .tpl file (like a static image), that it is necessary to state the full path, ie. "catalog/template/default/image/imagename.jpg".

I would suspect that if you specified the full path to the sound file you might have a bit more success.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Fido-X.

actually the product description "input box" does not like to embed tags.

I ended up going with an iframe. anchored the iframe in the description box and pointed it to a plain html page where I put that code.

In the end it worked out, it looks clean, but it takes extra work to make it happen. but you know what they say: Give a little - take a little

Thanks
