Sorry for the title but I've never spent more time on an app figuring out a small thing, in this case, installing extensions!
Its incredibly difficult, I can't believe its not been fixed since .. 2014?
I tried to enable FTP but since I'm on Amazon EC2 vsftpd has its own issues to I gave up on that. Then I tried the 'quick fix' but it still complains about "Directory containing files to be uploaded could not be found".
So I read somewhere about extracting and merging the extension directly and it will simply copy over the files and done, but will still no joy!
Just how do you install extensions? I'm stuck at "Directory containing files to be uploaded could not be found" for now with extension installer. Please fix this!
Thanks
Onby some Links, and Tools, on OcMod. And if you just cannot get along with it,

just joking
But just be aware, that NOT ALL OcMod's, offered from the Extension SItes,
will work, when set up by the OcMod Auto Install Routine, because some of them
are just NOT built according V-2 OcMod - Regulations.
In such a Case, and if the Extension ONLY consists of an xxx.XML FIle, better,
you make it work like a regular VqMod, FTP-placed in the vqmod/xml/... Directory.
in many 'simpler' cases, one does not even have to change anything, if using the latest Version
v.2.6.1 VqMod Setup.
Just to mention this. After all, OcMod is just a Son of VqMod, not quite as flexible as his Dad,
but it basically does the same. Just a little more complicated, for users at least, because it
involve's the DB, to store part of the Data. Still, it add's the same modified Files into the
Modification/... Section, as VqMod does with the VqCache Content, and No Moderator
exists so far, to enable someone, to display errors and/or selectively kill some of that
CACHED Extension Content.
The only way is, to use the System Refresh Buttons. It kill's it ok, but it does not make one smarter,
by i.E. supplying helpfull visual information.
And as long as no (free) OcMod-Moderator exists, acting as User Friendly Interface between
System, DB, and User, it's hard to handle, when it comes to errors, since the regular OcMod-Log
also act's as Error-Log. So, Many Users will have a hard time, even to find out, if an error
somewhere exists, looking for a tiny word, in the same color and size as everything else, on
the bottom of some entries, in a huge large File, full of nothing, really worth to know about ...
I hope, you'll get the point!
Good Luck!
Ernie

My Github OC Site: https://github.com/IP-CAM
5'200 + FREE OC Extensions, on the World's largest private Github OC Repository Archive Site.
Moved to vultr and finally got FTP working. Import/Export Extension installed successfully (phew!) and also activated via Go to System > Users > User Group > Edit Administrator.
However, I still don't see anywhere to access the extension under "tools". Am I missing something?
Thanks
