Just want to get some idea? Any one is using mariadb instead mysql?
Seem OpenCart not fully support on this moment?
Thanks

It is. MariaDB is forked from the original MySQL. The original devs went their own way after Oracle bought MySQL.
So both products exist next to each other.

Thanks the post but anyone is using mariadb on Opencart as daily production? At least OC not state on their requirement, also most extension if involve database still stick on MySQL terms.
I feel its slightly faster than MySQL 5.5 at least.

But since there is no MariaDB Driver in OC 1.5.6, it would be interesting to know,
how you connect this, for someone, always looking for some more peaks !

Opencart will run fine on that platform. MariaDB is a little faster than MySQL, so it makes online store run quick. I did set up OpenCart on my nas server with maria db, but processor and memory is limited. Performance is greatly affected by image size, template design and number of options.
