I changed admin/settings to say "Use SSL" YES for my store, changed
#1 config.html
#2 admin settings

But my web page comes up under https completely wrong, as if it has no stylesheet whatsoever, all fields simply display in order top to bottom, no opencart store formatting at all!

If I revert my config.html to http, all works fine! Even though the admin settings still say use SSL.

How do I get my store running under SSL https: ?????

I need this in order to get my payment methods to work. Thank you! Leland (Lee) McGee lee.mcgee@usa.net.

You need to purchase and install SSL certificate first. You can ask about that your server provider.

Custom OpenCart modules and solutions. You can write PM with additional questions... Extensions you can find here

Thank you Kestas, will find out from my server provider DigitalOcean. I do not feel a need for customer modules right now, the opencart templates seem sufficient. Lee McGee

No, not buying an Extension, you have to buy a SSL-Certifcate and install it!
This is your need - and requirement if you want to use SSL (https).
