Hello

running Version 2.3.0.2. Three store fronts set up using MultiStore. The Contact Us pages have Google Captcha enabled and working.

We get a regular flow of SPAM via the Contact Us forms on all the sites. Some of them are repeat offenders, all are clearly BOT's of some sort.

Any clues as to why Captcha isn't stopping them?

Any clues as to how to stop them if Captcha is not up to the job?

Thanks in advance

Try V3 instead, might work better for you. Here's a free modification Google reCAPTCHA V3 I created myself.

You may have another method of contacting you that isn't loading the captcha. Some themes come with a "quick contact" form, so double-check that you don't have something like that, or have installed a mod that has a contact method outside the normal Contact Us form. I haven't heard of v2 reCAPTCHA being beaten at this point, so it's most likely another vector than the captcha itself.

Many captchas are easily overcome these days by various spambots. We recommend using our Spambot Buster which doesn't need a captcha, instead it checks for key/touch/mouse events on the contact and account registration pages to distinguish between a genuine human user and a spambot. It also employs an invisible honeypot trap to identify and reject spambots.
