Hello,

I use Opencart Version 1.5.2.1, the problem I am facing is when I open Image Manager to upload or select any image for a product, it creates so many connection that my IP gets banned on server and leaves me stuck in between.

I can't find any setting so that i can limit the number of connections that it makes so that my Ip does not gets blocked on server.

Plz guide me how do i fix this issue. Daniel plz help me out.

THanks

Its the issue with your host. We have a partner hosting provider for opencart 'arvixe.com' give them a try.

We have a customer who used to be on a host and they had so many problems including out of connection, ipaddress ban, server down some times for hours and all that jazz. When we moved customer to another host all the problems went away we had not had a single issue for past 7 months.

Thanks for the suggestion. But my host is providing good services and support - www.caisc.co.in So I am satisfied with them. Actually we have more than 500 websites with them, so I can't switch service provider just for single website.

If you can tell me what settings i have to change or tweak, so i can request them, I will be grateful.

I would recommend you talk to the host to see if they can change the script that blocks the ipaddress.

I'm facing the same problem too!
It happen to many other host too.
Opencart should solve this issue, cannot aspect everyone to host at Arvixe!

Yes, this is definitely an issue with the way filemanager was changed for 1.5.2 and not about hosting (though cheap hosting may make the problem worse).

i installed vqmod & hierarchical_menu...
looks like nothing to do with extension.
End-up, i have no choice but stop using opencart from the hosting.
Other hosting i tried working fine.

it looks to me after running an older version of opencart and 1.5.2.2 side by side that the old versions image manager loads the thumbnails instantly suggesting that they are cached but the newer image manager looks like it is loading the image thumbnails straight from the server creating a high amount of requests and thus getting the ip banned.

if anyone can help resolve this please help.
thanks

well opencart 1.5.3 has been released i upgraded and the problem is still there, so i have 3 choices,1. install opencart 1.5.1 and spend another week re-building my shop, 2. go to yet another host full of promeises if i upgrade or 3. use another shopping cart?

any suggestions are welcome, im at my wits end

Just get different hosting, this is far from a widespread issue by any means. Only cheap / crappy hosting will cause this.

Alternatively consider your folder structure for images, if you have 10,000 images in the base directory .. well yeah you'll make 10,000 requests.

To me this problem still happens, but not when I'm uploading the images and I cannot precise exactly where or when but it just keeps blocking my IP, the last time I believe it was when I was trying to register a client for testing. This was on friday and since my hosting company doesnt work on weekends I spend all weekend without working...
