When I update the stock level from zero to a positive number, whilst it correctly updates on the actual individual product page, in the category view, where there is a list of similar products, it doesnt update but continues to show out of stock!

This may be connected with an extension I am using, and the developer is trying to track the problem, but he asked me if I use cache tools, which as far as I know I don't. How can I find this out? I have vqmod installed (hopefully correctly) and it is perhaps something to do with that.

Does this ring any obvious bells with anyone?

By the way - if I reload the page, it still doesnt change, bit if I re- visit after a day or so, it is then correct.

Looks like caching. Find out in your .htaccess file if you have line with Cache-Control. May be you should maximze theze cachingtimes to 1 hour (max-age=3600)

What i did find was that my .htaccess file was still called htaccess.txt. I changed that but it hasnt made any difference to the operation and there is no Cache control ine in it in any case :-((

By the way, I noted this comment in the htaccess file

"# If your opencart installation does not run on the main web folder make sure you folder it does run in ie. / becomes /shop/"

My folder is called httpdocs, but that seems to be the default folder, i.e. it is where index.html is found, so presumably I DONT need to change / to httpdocs/ ?
