Hi,

Is there a extension available which informs the customer that someone else has added item X to cart?

Thanks in advance ;)

Using opencart 3.0.3.2 - PHP 7.4 - Standard Template - Add to Cart Enable Disable Out of Stock Product 3.x - Export/Import Tool (V3.22) for OpenCart 3.x - Footer Social Media Link( 3.x ) v1.0

I would hope not. I sure wouldn't want other customers to know what I have personally added into my cart.

Hi
I have this extension that also works for the add to cart event:
Just Purchased Notifications And More (Real Time Notifications)
https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... n_id=35052

Customer name (only First name) and customer location can be enabled / disabled in the module settings.

Hope customers can, at least, opt-out of those notifications.

I'm not sure where you're based but in the UK we have a big company called Argos and they have this sort of notification. I have to say I quite like it when I'm browsing to see what others are buying: https://www.argos.co.uk/

Yes, There is a "Don't show again" option.
This option should also be implicit in the register and account page for customers to choose whether they'd like to use this option or not prior on receiving those notifications.

Hi Straightlight,

It wouldn't say 'Mr X has added item X to his cart', but would say 'Item X has just been added (or brought)'. it's just information to a customer that item X is in high demand.

Hi Straightlight,

It wouldn't say 'Mr X has added item X to his cart', but would say 'Item X has just been added (or brought)'. it's just information to a customer that item X is in high demand.
By doing that, it would also provide the date and time period when the session ID of a guest / registered customer has been assigned and when the product quantity has been updated. This is still customer activity-based.

A good Marketing solution has been provided by OSWorX today on showing the most popular products from the cart page: viewtopic.php?f=202&t=217316#p784428 . This would avoid using the customers activities method but rather focusing on the Product Marketing solutions.
