I am having problems calculating tax. What i am trying to do is following: Article A cost 40 bucks. Then a Customs excise tax is applied of 40%. Then VAT of 12.5% is applied. When i use a tax rate with two tax classes, then both rates are applied to the cost. However, i need VAT to be applied to Cost + excise tax.
so take cost, add excise duty and then add VAT which is calculated from total of cost+VAT.
Was trying this with standard feature without extension.
I am using opencart 3.0.2.0
In OpenCart tax is always calculated on the net price. If all your products have the 40% excise tax applied you could set the VAT rate to 17.5% (which is 12.5 + 40%).makauro wrote: ↑Sat Jul 03, 2021 5:23 pmI am having problems calculating tax. If some products don't have the excise tax they you may be able to this by having different combinations of different Tax Classes and Tax Rates that account for each situation.
I think using 17.5 as VAT will not work. Article A cost 40.00. Then the Duty excise Tax of 40% (for vehicles & Parts) is applied. Article A is now 56.00. And next the 12.5 % VAT is applied to the 56.00 which makes it a total of 63 bucks.
Now that the issue has been solved, please add: [SOLVED] at the beginning of the subject line on your first post.
