Well, you obviously got yourself a free Onlineshop Software, but now,
you don't know, how to create a successfull Business out of it.
But don't give up, just realize, that OpenCart means Business, and if one
is not familiar with Online Software, one needs a technical Supporter.
But such Services do not come for free. like in any other Business, better
be aware of that.
Good Luck!

I think you will have to get SSL certificate. Secondly, anti-fraud software could also be a good option. I think you should talk with a technical team in this regard.
Every website without a SSL-Certificate is a bad website.
Especially a Webshop MUST have a SSL-Certificate!
And no Lets'Encrypt - used by too many fakeshops.
Btw.: if you cannot pay approx. 20,- Euro per year for a real SSL-Certificate, better let the job.
And: if you do not use https, Searchengines will rank you lower ..
Has nothing to do with security, may help only the shopowner not loosing money ...KenaHagmaier wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 5:54 pmSecondly, anti-fraud software could also be a good option.

For securing your site, you need to have an SSL certificate on your website. Installing an SSL certificate provides a secure version of your website to your site visitors. One more thing to have your site secure, confirm your website in Google Search Console.
Security is not free but it's more economical than getting hacked. Drafting out few proven hacks to make the website secure for shopping:
1 - Switch to HTTPS
2 - Secure Back-office Area
3 - Backup Data Regularly
4 - Never Hold Client Card Data
5 - Use a GeoLocation Anti-Fraud Software
6 - Formulate Manual Security Policies
7 - Have the Multi-Layered Security System
Hope that helps,

All good responses, I also found this helpful back in the day when securing folders etc. In OC

Checking folder permissions, file permissions on the server is key and I like the suggestion of paying for a Firewall.

Glad to see others are realizing this. Free is not always a great idea and in this case, exploited by way too many websites.

We can get more benefit by even paying less but with paymnt
we can reduce the chances of being hacked as paid services
are the reliable ones mostly.
