Last month, I had posted a request for custom development on the forum. I received many PM from developers. After some interviews I chosen someone with over 1000 post and few extensions on the marketplace.
He quoted me 250 euro for my task and asked for 50% upfront via money transfer.
Stupid me, I trusted him and forwarded him 125 euro via wire transfer.
It was a rocky start, he shared his Whatsapp number which he was responding to until the money reached his account where he stopped responding, he continue to respond to messages on here, but then that stopped.
Last message I received was on February 10 but since then he is not responding.
What can I do in this case?
Is there any admin for this forum that I can complain to?
I too have encountered Yodapt and he tried to scam me out of $60 via Paypal. Luckily I did not send via friends and family, so I was able to dispute the amount.
I gave him a good month to at least communicate back with me, but he never did. If you're having this same experience I'm quite sure now he is a scammer.

Why scammed? Maybe he died or something.

If he died then that is FATE. But I don't wish this on anyone else so at least the admin should take action against his account. I am usually careful with sending money to strangers but we are a community using this cart; it is not fair to have few people ruining it for all of the good developers on here.
I had purchased over 50 extension on here, sometimes I need custom work so the developer asks for money in advance. Luckily all the other developer have been honest and came through with the work.
My point was that something may have happened in his life. Maybe he turned hermit and now lives in the woods alone :-)

It's true that developers should be given some grace if they don't respond right away, but personally I can't even imagine going 12 days without responding to a client who's already paid me for work. That's negligent unless there really is a major health issue or internet-related issue.
However, yodapt was active on this very forum today, so he's definitely alive: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=24013
There's always two sides to a story, so if he has one I'd encourage him to post his side here for why he hasn't responded to ssalahat in 12 days. If he doesn't offer to tell his side of the story, then we have to assume that ssalahat's version is correct, and yodapt is just a developer that leaves clients hanging.

I've now banned yodapt from the OpenCart forums. I generally don't like issuing a ban to someone who's not a spammer, but in this case there was a very consistent message being told by multiple users, stating that he takes money up front and does not complete projects:

He has declined to defend himself publicly in all of these cases, so I can only assume that all of these users are telling the truth. I was hoping the OpenCart team would take care of this, but they have not responded to any of the reports as far as I'm aware. In the interest of helping protect other forum users, I've banned yodapt until the OpenCart team tells me otherwise. If you're posting in the Commercial Support forum and looking for a developer, be cautious about anyone using the e-mail address aeon.yoda@gmail.com.
