When I look at my Sales/Orders page, I notice that sometimes there are missing order ID's. For example I'll see
Joe Blow order ID 123
Moe Moe order ID 126
Koe moor order ID 128

My questions is what happened to the missing ID numbers in between?

I've looked high and low but cannot find any reference as to why. My hope and assumption is that someone started an order than cancelled prior to final checkout. If so is there a way for me to find this out? What are your thoughts?

I am using version 1.5.1.3

Hi,

These missing orders are probably orders, which were started but not finished due to not being paid for. This means that user has confirmed an order, but has not paid for it. These orders are even written to the database, but have some special status, so that they are not being shown anywhere.

in your order page do a filter for missing orders and they will show.
these orders occur if a client goes into the payment gateway but does not complete paymant.
