Ok so new problem now happening - products going missing
Product is in admin enabled, then for some reason google merchant comes up with "the page you requested cannot be found"
Only way round I have found is to duplicate the item then delete original.
Have one now this morning gone this way - listed on main page
http://www.ronsattic.co.uk/Fashion/Wome ... dies-Jeans
Click on item
http://www.ronsattic.co.uk/Fashion/Wome ... idery-legs
loop back to main page and not on item- then google
http://www.ronsattic.co.uk/ladies-blue- ... rrency=GBP
which comes up with no item.
Is this a bug ?
and how to fix.

Just for the probable sake of stomping twice (over and back) across thin ice here, two suggestions pop to mind.

An idiosyncrasy of the admin panel is that if you're too hasty your changes (e.g., Enable, among them) won't take effect. Be sure to take each next step only when the status bar at the bottom of the screen (at least in Windows) has stopped doing anything. If you're altogether too hasty you'll be forced to log back in. Try taking a fresh look at what you know you did but the machine might have ignored, in order to ensure that "Enabled" took when you earlier set it.

Try popping into your admin panel and under System / Backup [/] Restore to bag a backup. Open it with a decent pure text editor (such as freeware Crimson Editor). Use "Find" to check every line that pertains to an item that is problematical. Look at those lines in particular for any hints that the database tripped over its own shoelaces. You can also use a fancier approach, such as Oracle's Workbench, but do whichever matches your comfort with what you know as well as with what you don't know. The database can be manually fixed and then via the admin panel Restored. Be sure to keep timestamped copies separate among unedited, edited, etc., and to keep safety copies.

I won't venture to guess whether the problem is a "bug" as such.

Okay, then the first suggestion probably doesn't matter, and the second suggestion would still speak to whether there's a version idiosyncrasy in OC or the tie into GM. A few simple questions.--

1/ What (shudder) did you update?
2/ Do the failures of particular ones recur?
3/ Is there a pattern to which ones fail next? Is the server Unix-Linux or Yuks (=Win)?
4/ Have there been any changes to Apache .ht* files in the directory tree (root up)?
5/ Are all file permissions correct for the particular server (including usually different dir and file permissions, but often different on separate servers)?
6/ Is the Google Merchant module altered or somehow misedited? Did Google Merchant's own end change any APIs or other magic soup ingredients?
7/ Does it matter whether customer is using (a) an ordinary desktop or laptop device (a computer) or (b) instead cellular or "pad" device (a pretend computer)?
8/ Did your server during periodic maintenance change the php subversion you thought you were using (control panel should let you see and even select it, e.g., among 5.x)?
9/ Did you happen to change any php.ini lines that you'd long ago already changed to suit OC?

[Edit, added:] Your disappearing server thread seems to underlie all of this, so at your
