Hi guys,
i am going to use this extension: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... rch=serial on my OpenCart store (1.5.6.1). The extension works with OpenCart "Download" product function, so it requires for customer a registered account.

On the other side, i am interested in managing the payments with Paypal Express and i would like to install an extension that automatically create an account for the customer using his PayPal data (such as this: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... %20express or that: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... %20express)

According to your experience, are the two things compatible? (PayPal Express checkout + Download product)?

Thank you!

You would actually need to ask the extensions' authors, because they know what is in them. However, the short answer should be yes, unless extensions conflict among themselves (each finds and substitutes code). The means of payment is not important to the downloading, what matters in downloading is that payment was made or free download was permitted. The authorization to download is not important to the paying, what matters in paying is that products, downloadable or not, were paid for. So, yes, you should be able to use express payment whose successful outcome would then support authorization for downloading afterward.

Actually, with the Paypal Express module already included in OC 1.5.6.1, the Paypal Express Checkout button does not appear if Download products are added to the shopping basket. That is why i assumed that download product and payment form are somehow linked.

You can check with PayPal itself whether the limitation owes to the downloadable products or to how the module is set up. Now that you mention it I have a fuzzy recollection of something like that a while back but I'll have to try it to see it as well as check with PayPal before I'll believe it.
