Image Enquiry

Hello, I am wanting to move from Zen Cart to open cart but I have a question about products and images.

1. Can products be uploaded via CVS or similar file?
2. Can images be uploaded via FTP and link to specific products?

These are my only concerns right now as someone had told me that Open Cart requires manual image uploads for each product. Thank you!

Yes, at least, if such a File meets/contains everything, so, the OC Importer Extension, used for such,
will be able to place it correctly in the OC-DB. And if such a Product List contains MORE 'details' than the 'OC-DB' accepts, by Default, matching DB Tables/Sections would have to be created first, by use of a MySql Admin Tool, ahead of such an Import. Just to mention this, an Import Tool can only 'handle', what a DB accepts, on VALID CONTENT!!

Sure, every Product could have it's own image Subdirectory, technically, there is even an Extension,
at least for v.1.5.6.x, obviously specialized for this, I will have to look into as well. It's probably the only CLEAN Solution, if one has a lot of images, and frequently changes Products, to keep the place running really efficient.
