Invalid file type! error

Hey,

This is my first day in the forum I hope I can help and get help ;3

I would like to install extensions, but whenever I try to upload one it tells me wrong file type.

this is the way I do it:
1) download an extension from opencast.com
2) compress the file into zip
3) go to extension installer thru my admin login, and upload the compressed zip file

am I doing it wrong?

When you compress the file into zip you need to have the name in the correct format, e.g. filename.ocmod.zip rather than filename.zip for use with the extension installer.

Mind you, the extension you downloaded should already be in a compressed format, so there shouldn't be any need to re-compress it. Just de-compress the downloaded archive and upload to your server through FTP if it is not already named properly.
