Warning: Image cache directory needs to be writable for OpenCart to work!

Hi

I am trying to install OpenCart but i keep getting this error in Step 1 - Warning: Image cache directory needs to be writable for OpenCart to work!

I have checked the image/cache folder and set the folder to 777 and have also tried 755 butit is still coming up with the error .

Any help would be great

if you are changing in your ftp program - try using your hosting control panels file manager

Realistically, you should only need chmod 666, my advice would be to contact your server administrator.

yes, 666 would work.  but for troubleshooting 777 is better as it removes all of the security issues that could be..  once it working you can fine tune your security.

worrying about security before you have the script running is like putting a 2000$ stereo in a car you just got from the junk yard...  useless....  IMO

666 is read/write access for user,group,other; 777 just adds execute, which is not needed by the script.

Security doesn't even come into it.

That's right there's no real difference between chmod 666 and chmod 777 other than the executable, so either should work.

You need to chmod 666 (or 777) BOTH the image directory AND the image/cache directory.
