Hi!

"Redirect non-seo urls to seo urls"

I have SEO URLS (nice urls, url alias we can call them as we want) up and working, so I access all my categories, products with example.com/my-product, example.com/category.

I found out that in some search engines I have indexed some categories as:

Code: Select all

product/category&path=357_359
I think this could be some old search indexing, but since the category is valid it's still in the index of the search engine.

My question is, is there a thing like "reverse url alias lookup"?

If I access url with old style product/category&path=357_359 OC checks if it has url alias set, If yes, redirect to it.

Example:

category Apple Phones (id = 357_359) with url alias: apple-phones

product/category&path=357_359 -> on access redirect to /apple-phones, because it has url alias set.

What exact OC Version are you using, and what Theme is part of it ?

Hi IP_CAM,

Custom theme & OC 1.5.4. I love this old version and I almost understand every part of it and I have it highly customised for our need (mainly on back-end, importing products, order processing etc.). :) I am glad to see that you are still working with this version too.

I think it should be part of the system, not the theme.

When I request index.php?product/category&path=357_359, index.php should check if category with path 357_359 has url alias set and if yes, redirect to SEO URL.

Well, I'm working with the latest (slightly updated) 1.5.6.5_rc Release,
to be found here: https://github.com/IP-CAM
but, to be honest, I never played around yet with SEO URL's at all.
And v.1.5.4 is quite older, and most likely a little different in several
places, compared with my Version. So, I'm affraid, I could not be of help,
when it comes to such. Possibly, someone else would be able, to help
you on this. Good Luck! ;)

OOPS, I was not thinking about this one ... ::)
To me, It's the best Admin Extension, to redirect those, trying to access my
Sites, by use of 'irregular' links. But it could sure also be used, to redirect valid
content to the right place, immediately, and without any delay. ;)
