Installation failure at PHP zip requirement
(I was going to post this in the installation section but there's no button to create a new post)

Amazingly my hosts now have php 8 available.
I uploaded the files and pre installation checks fail on php zip extension, or lack of.
If I have direct access to all ftp / files etc. do I need zip ?
My host's reply...

"Thanks for contacting us.
zip isn't included by default in the php functions after version 7.3 and must be enabled separately or use an alternative. Unfortunately, it won't be possible to be enabled manually on the reseller hosting package."

Any guidance ?

Stick with OC 3.0.3.8 on PHP 7.4 or change hosts. You're welcome. Where do I send the invoice. :)

Hi.
Has the situation changed since the first release of v4 requiring the zip capability as in my original post in this thread ?
Thanks

I have now been able to change the htaccess to allow php8+.
Once I uploaded and expanded the zip file myself, the installation worked first time.

A few words to my hosts about how old their software was compared to the competition did the world of good !
