hi

after installing as per installation note instruction i did everything exactly suggested or instructed but after installation completion i don't see the Import/Export option in my Opencart Admin panel in system menu.

my opencart version is : 1.5.6.4
my store website link is : www.stylishforless.com

Please Help i am doing this all by myself i am not a developer but so far whatever i did to the above site i did myself alone.

it will be highly appreciated if someone can help me to get it installed and usable condition. i really really badly madly need this tool / extension this is a life saver tool for me. otherwise i am dead. :( please help

Hello, I need response from developer or someone else - is it possible to import additional fields inputs, like tabbed fields added by third party extension, provide some instructions if possible?

Hello,
first to post my findings with extension problems exporting non working xls files, this is during language and if you change the administration language to English as default, it suppose to work with troublesome 1.5.5.1 etc.
You can change later to the actual, this is just a tip as I've read though the forums and found various server setting, PHP Excel and other opinions, but none on the mentioned lang settings.

Hello JNeuhoff . I am hoping you can help us with our import / export as it is not working and hasn't been for a long time.

Update:
- Installed on Opencart Version 1.5.6
- Export fails to provide usable files.
- Sample xls file would be helpful to test import funtions

Installed and appears to be functioning. I have a small cart with 12 items. I performed an export and receive the xls file as expected.

However, attempting to open the file generates this error, "The file you are trying to open, 'back_categories_products.xls", is in a different format than specified by the file extension. verify that the file is not corrupt and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file?"

Upon opening the file the contents is blank. Anyone have this issue and know the solution?

@sbasha: I had the same issue. First check that you have complete step 3 of the installation process.

3) Before using this newly installed Export/Import feature for the first time, you must set the
access rights for top administrator as follows:

In the admin interface, choose System > Users > User Group

From there, select 'Top Administrator', then click on the 'Edit' link to the right.
This will open up an edit window with multichoice dropdown lists for 'Access' and 'Modify' rights.
In both of them, you'll see a new entry for 'tool/export' which you can select by clicking
on their check boxes.

My issues was that "too/export" was not available in either the Access or Modify fields.
To resolve this issue I re uploaded the admin folder provided on the download. Once I did that I went back and repeated step 3 and the page stopped telling me I did not have permission.

I installed the add-on OpenCart 2.0.1.1 all ok but where can I find it to edit shipping options. The modification is visible but no longer a shipping :( Please help. !!!

@kombi: (and others with the same problem): You must enter FTP details in System > Setting > your-store > Action, and copy the "install.xml" file in the vqmod/xml folder. Then I was able to use the Extension Installer in the admin panel. The only drawback, I now have 2 Export/Import entries under "Tools" !? But at least the installation of the extension was succesful this way.

@kombi: (regarding comment made on 26/10/2014) : Are you using the Pavilion custom theme by any chance? My error messages are the same as yours (both this extension and Quick-Fix from isenselabs). Manual upload through FTP also doesn't creat a new menu item in the admin panel.

Have you meanwhile been able to fix this, and if so, would you like to share the solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
