Where to find the instructions and/or video as how to use this extension? What is the admin and password for the demo store?

Hi, yes it does support automatic import from xml feed, this is working with cron jobs so you set specific time when you want your feed to be imported periodically.

As with some others I have seen in these comments, I am having issues with accented characters. I know you say to make sure you have the correct encoding selected, but I do. I ensured that my file was saved with UTF-8 encoding, and that is what is selected in step 2 of the import. However, upon importing the file, it strips the description field and sets it to blank. Any other ideas?

Even though you tell Excel to save in UTF-8 it is actually saving as ISO-8859-1. Once I changed the encoding to this it worked.

Thanks for your comment, yes Excel is sometimes quite problematic with character encoding, good to know about using ISO-8859-1, we will put some information note in the module about that.

hi
is there any way to export the product url as desired languege not only the default store language whish is english?while we exporting xlsx product file
because the product url is different from language to other lang

I have pdf invoice pro for years and now I bought universal import/export pro. I must say I will buy other modules from you. Very happy customer!
Now I have one future request to make this the most powerfull import export exstension of all. What if you could export with own title colums? Then you can export to your own invoice software with the heading colums the software needs. There is no other software that can do this. For example I use dollibar erp and I would like to import all of the products. Would that be a good idea?

This is some of the best Opencart software and support that we have experienced. I wish we had this extension years before. We use it to update products daily, and to export orders several times a day. It's also great for backups. Well done GeekoDev, I can't speak highly enough of your work.

Hi, i have upgrade OC to 3036 and trying to Import products with included patent categories but modul Import only 2 subcategories in depth E.g patent >sub1>sub2, modul doesn’t upload in patent category. I have used option put in parent category, all Import categories are correct binded (bind and source categories are the same). Is there any advice about settings how to put products in all desired categories from sub sub sub to parent

It's possible, just select these parameter in step 2 > Existing item identifier > Product ID (or Category ID).

can you export latest products to rss? I do this for marketing and am switching to v3 from v2 and cannot find an rss new products generator for v3

It is not possible to generate rss feeds with this module, but we have another one which is specialized in product feeds and do generate rss, it is Universal Data Feed: https://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=marketplace/extension/info&extension_id=31346

When im importing from file everything is ok, but when try to import from url it says error: copyright opencart and burnengine and nothing else. I'm using burnengine kiddos theme. Can it be something with the theme that doesn't work?

Hello, I have an XML with strangely formed category tag such as:
<category><![CDATA[Parent-Category / Sub-Category-1 / Sub-Category-2 -> Sub-Category-3]]></category>
In this format all categories are separated with slash / but the last sub category is separated with ->. The category tree depth is not fixed. Does your extension offer a way to replace the -> with slash / prior to import so that the script can properly identify the slash separated categories ?

Hello! I'm trying to import 5000 products on my site but after each batch or just couple of hundreds products it askes me my login to Opencart and when stops import. What can I do? Maybe I need to edit some server settings?

Hi, the module is able to handle that, no matter of server settings, but I think this is more related to an issue that was occurring on some OC version in old versions of the module, this is fixed now make sure to update to latest version.

Hi! I was wondering if the module use Opencart DB routines or does it modifies the DB directly?

Hi, it can do both, there is an import option that makes the module to use the opencart method, this is ensuring to process also any custom module binding to product edition, and there is the custom fields section of the module that can be used to assign data to the custom modules.
There is also direct DB edition that is faster and updates only necessary fields, so you can choose which mode fits your needs.

Quick update mode is the one that modifies directly the database, to use standard opencart method you need to use normal import mode, and in Step 2 select 'Existing item action' to 'Update - Replace'.

Thank you for the explanation. Does the "product quick update" change the date_modified somehow? Asking this because it gives some issues with our caching module.

Maybe better to handle this by support email instead of here?

In last 15 days i lost a lot of time because of your extension i use your demo link to understand the extension before buy but many times many things make problem and i can not reach to exact settings....... i read a lot of people positive comments which attracted me too much...it were better if you explain in video link. Anyway your extension has very good option if it work correctly...very complicated to understand it.

It is very simple, just upload your CSV or XLSX file into module, then validate to go to step 2 > validate again go to to step 3 > Select the fields of your file you want to import and continue to step 4 to verify if all is ok, you will see what your about to import.
