Almost every OpenCart admin or owner needs to grant access to part of the admin section for specific users. May be for employees, who need to upload/edit products. May be to support for a purchased theme or extension.
OpenCart grants the ability to manage permissions for different admin user groups for sections of the admin panel that they can access and/or modify. Unfortunately the Dashboard is not included in these permissions and everytime you need to grant access to seomeone - you let them see your dashboard, which includes very sensitive data for your sales, orders, customers and so on.
With this extension you can hide the dashboard section for different admin groups and manage the perpission for the different admin groups per your wish - to be able to see or not your Dashboard.

Easy to install ocmod extension. Does not modify or replace any core files.
Just extract the package and Install it using the Extension Installer:
1. Extensions -> Extension Installer -> Upload -> Browse for the file that you just extracted and select it
You need to refres your extensions after that, so that the mod can start working:
2. Extensions -> Modifications -> Refresh (in the upper right corner)
(Keep in mind that for some versions of OpenCart after modifications refresh - the store is being set to maintanance mode. Check in: System->Settings->{Your Store} - Edit -> Server -> Maintenance Mode)
After installing the extension, the ability to modify permissions will be added in the System->Users->User Gropus->{Admin Group}
Please note, that after installing it, you (the top administrator group) may also not be able to see the dashboard until permissions is granted"(for some versions). You can grant permission to the Top Administrator group and/or other admin user gruops:
3. System->Users->User Gropus->{Admin Group} -> on Access Permissions find and check "common/dashboard" -> Save

It can also be made to redirect to specific section of the admin area (for example products) after login or clicking the dashboard per customer need/request.
