You can see it working on the home page of our demo site. There're several banner sets. To display them just reload page several times — you'll see them all eventually.

Banner settings can be found on our demo site (username: demo, password: demo). Go to Extensions -> Modules -> Slideshow and open module's settings or Design -> Banner and click to edit any banner.
