Suppose you have osCommerce based site with good SEO rank, and it was converted to Opencart. All tools used for this purpose preserve IDs for products, categories and manufacturers in the conversion.

Search engines require in case of URL changes, in server side to be performed so called “301 permanent redirect”. This guaranty smooth transition in search results, and proper page opened for users.

This extension analyzes given to the site URL and if detects it is in osCommerce format, then redirects to proper URL in Opencart format and content - product, category, manufacturer or info page. Redirection uses SEO (human) URLs, if they are activated in Opencart installation.

- Go to Google and search for your indexed site urls, enter:
site:yoursite.com
- click on a position in search results, it is in old (osCommerce) format, and see how it is redirected permanently to Opencart URL.

END OF USE
After several months or one year it is safe to remove redirects, after you see search engines updated their URLs.
