Have you ever wondered what may be the reason for that?
Yes, one of the main reasons is when the customer does not fill the e-mail correctly. If a blank/empty space is left at the beginning, the middle or at the end of the e-mail - Opencart recognizes the e-mail as invalid and does not proceed the order or the registration of the customer. Even if a warning is show, when the customer checks and sees the e-mail is correct - she/he does not pay attention to the empty spaces, that he/she might have left while filling the e-mail field. That frustrates them and they just give up. That's why you end with one more missed sale or customer!
What this mod does - it replaces any empty/free spaces in the e-mail field on all forms - checkout(register and/or guest checkout included),register form,account edit form. This way it makes it easier for the customers to register or complete the order without facing any more issues with the wrong e-mail leading to increased number of customers and sales for your store!

This mod works with the default Opencart installation and also should work fine with most themes that use standart checkout. For themes/extensionsusing modified/one page/quick checkout - some corrections might need to be done.
