Cron jobs are very useful to save you time running scheduled tasks automatically - such as sending Customer Pre-Sale emails such as Abandoned Carts automatically.

They were added to Opencart 3.1 but missing for older versions, so we've made this into a module that can be easily installed and backwards compatible.
