Online payment gateways enable websites to charge customers for purchases. These gateways impose a fee on the website owner for every customer transaction. If these transaction fees are too high, they can eat into the sales profits, potentially leading to losses.
To mitigate this, website administrators can pass the transaction fee onto customers at checkout. By doing this, customers cover the fee, helping to preserve the sales profit and reducing potential losses.
Our OpenCart Payment Method Charge/Fee extension displays all enabled payment modules. Administrators can set payment charges/fees either as a percentage or as a fixed amount, which will then be added to the final order. There are two options available: Fixed and Percentage.
The OpenCart payment charges module identifies the payment gateway chosen by the customer and calculates the appropriate charges, which is then added to the subtotal or as the option set by administrator to generate the new final order total.
The module also verifies whether the admin has set a charges for the selected payment gateway. If no fee is set, no additional charge will appear at the final checkout step.
The module also gives option to restrict the charges upon specific customer group or for specific countries. Charges can also be applied for all customer groups or all countries.
The module also provide option to apply the charges above minimum order value or below maximum order value or between minimum and maximum value.
