Email is still one of the main channels many businesses use for communication. It is also a big part of marketing. A HubSpot report mentions that email brings in a noticeable share of revenue for companies. Spending $1 on email marketing yields almost a $36 ROI. This alone shows how much weight a single message can carry.
The problem is that writing these emails takes time. You write a line and think it is good. But when you read it again after some time, it starts feeling too long or unclear. Since people need to write emails every now and then, they use tools that can help them craft a clean draft without slowing down their work.
Editpad Email Writer is one of such tools. In this review, we’ll see how well it actually fits into professional communication and if it’s worth it.
What is Editpad Email Writer, and How Does It Work?
AI Email Writer, offered by Editpad, is an online free tool that generates emails based on the details you give it. It uses machine learning and natural language processing algorithms to learn the context of your input text and generate output based on it.
It comes with multiple customization options, such as the ability to decide email type and writing tone.
The tool then generates an initial draft that you can review and edit to make it look more personal. It is mainly used when someone needs a starting point instead of writing everything from scratch.
The Experience of Testing Editpad Email Writer
Here are our observations after trying it out:
The User Interface
In our testing, we found the interface simple and easy to navigate. There are two main options. One is “Compose New Email,” and the other is “Reply to Email.” These options provide you control over the output style and context.
There are some other options for customizing the output, including "Type" and "Tone." The email type list contains follow-up, cold outreach, reminder, support, and a few other labels.
Tone settings work the same way. If you need the email to sound formal, friendly, or more casual, switching the tone adjusts the wording accordingly. Everything is visible on the screen, and we didn’t notice any menus buried behind extra clicks. It also supports multiple languages.
Creating a Formal Business Email from Scratch
When we tested the tool with an input prompt asking to write a formal email, it generated a nice draft for the formal email. The structure looked clean. It wrote the subject line, greeting, and body in a decent way. Here is the prompt given to the tool:
As you can see in the above picture, we provided everything that was necessary. Here’s how the tool responded to our provided input:
The tool kept the language consistent. It wrote suitable wording, which is helpful because many AI tools tend to add unnecessary phrases. This one stayed close to the point, which saves time when you want a formal email in a short time.
Writing a Reply to an Email
We tested the “Reply to Email” option of the Editpad with a sample email in a more sensitive scenario. It was about a delayed shipment. The tool handled the reply in a logical way. The draft produced covered all the points from the prompt. Here is the sample email provided to the tool:
In the draft, it apologized for the delay and explained the cause and then wrote the new delivery date. That helped keep the message readable when the reply needed to carry a responsible tone. Here is the response generated by the tool:
It adopted an apologetic tone without being too casual. That's a good sign of contextual understanding of the tool. However, if the first draft doesn’t match your requirements, as sometimes it is possible due to a vague prompt or any other reason, the tool offers the option to “Improve” the output.
Writing an Informal or Friendly Email
In professional settings, sometimes you want your emails to sound a bit friendly. So, we decided to test it for informal email generation by choosing the “Friendly” tone.
Here’s how the tool responded:
It generated a quick first draft. The tone of the text is friendly but not too casual. It decently delivers the message. The draft contains greetings, and then it writes the request mentioned in the input text. The words and phrases look natural, like a real person has written them. However, a bit of editing was required to make the draft more personal.
After editing and polishing the draft, you can directly open the mail in your preferred email tool by clicking on the “Open in email” button in the top right corner. This way, you do not need to manually open the email and copy and paste your email text. You can get it right there in one click and send it by just adding the receiver's email ID.
Where Editpad Email Writer Excels
The tool produces clean and organized drafts within seconds, which makes it useful when you need to send something quickly.
It handles English grammar well. Users who are not very confident in their writing can still send emails that look professional and are easy to read.
The Editpad keeps writing consistent for routine emails. You don’t have to rewrite the same style again and again.
The drafts are simple to adjust. Even if the first version does not perfectly fit your requirements, it gives two other drafts if you click on the “Email 2” or “Email 3” button.
It also works well for users who switch between tones for different audiences.
The Areas to Work on for Improvement
Sometimes the draft feels a bit too cautious and plain, so you may need to add small personal touches to make it sound more like your own style.
For very detailed emails, you might still have to guide it with clear points to get the exact message you want.
Tone options work well, but they could be even more refined for complex business situations.
Is Editpad Worth Using for Professional Communication?
Yes, this tool is helpful for writing quick drafts for professional communication. The tool performed well in our testing. It writes clear messages with context and delivers important points well. Hence, it can help you avoid writer's block and save a lot of valuable time.
However, no AI tool can surpass human creativity and attention to detail. So you always read the email and customize it to look original, personalized, and authentic.
The best way is to generate an email from the tool and update it according to your specific writing. This way, you get the speed of AI and the authenticity of human communication.
